Term: Climber

A plant that climbs using other plants or objects as support. Self-clinging climbers climb by means of aerial roots or adhesive tendril tips. Tendril climbers coil there leaf stalks or tendrils, while twining climbers coil their stems. Scandent and trailing climbers produce long flexible stems that grow over or through their support.
